Animals, Native Americans, and a Monster

When I walked into my first class this morning at 8 am it was not the bright orange lei placed around my neck, the HUGE size of the class, or the hot coffee that I spilled in my purse that was the most startling to me.  It was the statement my loud, funny professor made: 'If you don't like animals, and if you have no desire to learn about or have anything to do with them, you will HATE this class.'  In addition, she commented that a good imagination was also crucial to the class.  Not only do I absolutely abhor animals, I have a very small imagination.  Needless to say, after a chat with my roommate and sister, I later attended a different TRAD class that I was not enrolled in about Native Americans.  Happily, it had a small amount of space open, was in a more convenient building, and had a fairly interesting professor.  I switched classes and now don't have any classes before 10 am! Me and my roommate will both be happy about that.

My second class (second on my schedule, third that I actually attended) was an honors class entitled "Thinking Critically about New Media."  The professor, who arrived late and a bit frazzled carrying a monster (which he proceeded to drink throughout class) reminded most of the class (only about 35 people) of one of the funny crazy professors from a movie or tv show.  Despite his slight oddness, he seems like a cool and fun teacher who promises to take us to see movies as a class. My last class, math, was as boring and ordinary as would be expected.  Hopefully tomorrow brings interesting classes and little homework =)
