A Day of Listening

Today was our first full day in Santa Monica and it was both long and special.  We began all together with a message given by one of our directors and then had lunch with our action groups.  We spent a couple hours of the afternoon getting our first taste of what it is like on the streets of Santa Monica.  We went to the Promenade, which is a HUGE outdoor kind-of shopping area where there are always A LOT of people.  It's not really like any place I've ever seen in Arizona.  Our plan today was just to talk to people and do a survey called "The Worldview" to get an idea of how people in Santa Monica perceive life.  It was really cool just hearing different people's points of view, especially those from outside the country.  Everyone had a different answer to the questions and some were totally honest about having no idea about things such as "What is our purpose in life?"  Tonight we again split up into our action groups and had a really special time of just sharing with each other about our lives and it was really amazing hearing the stories of some of the other girls here.  After a full day, I am ready to relax and have some quiet time :)
