Just a little story about a little girl...

Once upon a time there was a little girl who hated to go to the doctor and was very very afraid of needles.  Every time she had to get a shot it would be a big deal and she would fight and cry and sometimes even vomit. Yikes.  As she got older, she slowly got braver and more accustomed to shots so that eventually she could go to the doctor without having an anxiety attack.  But she still didn't like needles.  One of her biggest fears was ever having to get an IV or blood drawn.  One time her parents tried to make her get her blood drawn and she absolutely completely refused.  But again, as she grew older she became more collected and when the time came to get an IV (or three times) she managed to do it with only looking away and a couple tears.  On the third time, there were no tears at all, only a little wincing.  Then the day finally came when the doctor said the dreaded words - blood work.  But this little girl had now grown into an adult and she knew it was no longer rational to freak out and refuse.  So she calmly went, all by herself, without even a friend to keep her company or hold her hand.  And when the time came for her blood to be drawn, she just looked away so she wouldn't have to watch. Still a little scared, still anticipating the worst, but very calm and collected.  And when it was all over, she asked in surprise "that's it?"  For it really wasn't a big deal at all. It hurt less than a shot and an IV.  So the brave girl smiled happily and treated herself to some coffee for being such a trooper before heading off to the pharmacy to pick up more medicine that is probably oh so good for her body...

Perhaps the next story will contain lab results!
