Yesterday I got the opportunity to have lunch with 4 Deloitte professionals from the Phoenix office along with 5 or 6 other UA students. All of the other students at the lunch were either Junior or Seniors and already taking classes in Eller - I guess I'm a little ahead of the game. The lunch ended up to be amazingly informative and beneficial! We got to chat for a few hours and learned A LOT about the day to day life of being a CPA and details on what actually goes into getting your certification. Pretty extreme. They described work weeks with a minimum of 55 hours, often working from 7 AM to 10 PM on projects. Yikes! It definitely sounded like a busy life, but along with the work they told us about all of the benefits of being an accountant (specifically for Deloitte). I'm not going to bore you with all the specifics that I find super interesting, except to say it gave me a lot to think about for my future career! It was so nice of the women to meet with us, and it was a great opportunity to meet more professionals. I'm really looking forward to visiting the office in June!
I have come to the realization that although the past few months have been busy, life is about to get a whole lot crazier. I have a couple big research papers that I have to write in order to get Honors credit for classes as well as other papers and big projects. All of these things so far away when the semester started, so I figured I would worry about them closer to the due date. But now, t here is only a little over a month left of school and I have to get started (and complete) everything on top of all of my regular stuff! My current dilemma is how to balance the research with homework and studying for all FOUR of the tests I have next week. I am certain I will get everything done, I'm just not quite sure how...
I'm about to start counting down the days until Summer...
Enjoyed seeing you yesterday, Hannah. You have a bright future ahead of you!
