It's been somewhat cold for less than two weeks and already I miss the warmth. Although it was a relief to be rid of the blistering heat of August and September, I was really getting comfortable with the shorts and t-shirts that I was still wearing by the end of October. Now, winter is slowly coming to Tucson, and I'm already dreading the cold and sickness. Additionally, I am painfully aware of the utter lack of winter clothes that I have and the fact that none of my jeans fit properly on my very short legs. As much as I hate (and would really love) to, I might have to venture out of my $20 per week spending and buy some new clothes. However, with the overwhelming need to shop that consumed me last time I went to the mall, I'm afraid if I let myself start, I won't be able to stop.
My weeks are filled with tests, essays, and studying and although my workload really isn't too bad, I am counting down the days until I get a break for Thanksgiving. I cannot wait to go home to see my friends and family. (And I might start praying Nikki has her baby while I'm home =P) I'm so much looking forward to relaxing, eating good food, and getting to see everyone. Sometimes it seems like the time since the beginning of the semester has gone by so fast, while other times it seems like its been sooo long since I've seen everyone.
A few highlights and lowlights (is that a word?) of this week...
I got a 100 % on my INDV (Economic Perspectives) paper that I wrote about organ donation!!! Now, I might have a chance at getting an A in this very hard class. (I am going to try to figure out how to create a link on here to all the essays I've written in case anyone is interested.)
I have a math test tomorrow that I'm really not looking forward too :(
I get to skip class and shadow a tour of Eller this Friday which I am really looking forward too :)
And...despite my high doses of Vitamin C and precautionary gargling, I am still sick and my voice is very hoarse which means no singing at Cru this week :(
Oh well. One week!!
Maybe some black Friday is in order while you are home. I know Kingman doesn't have a good selection but the shelves are full for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteSo... my fave ways to pick up some GREAT clothes for really cheap?
ReplyDeleteGoodwill - find one in a "nicer" neighborhood - I often find amazing items with the original tag still on them - never been worn! My fave? A $300 skirt for $7.
Ross Dress for Less, TJ Maxx, Marshall's - all have GREAT deals - yes, just like Goodwill, you gotta work a bit for your find - but SO worth it when you get your $90 jeans for $14.
Nordstrom Rack - don't know if you've got one anywhere nearby or not - but what's not to love about a fabulous t-shirt that retailed for $40 in the regular Nordstrom, but goes for $4 at The Rack?
Watch the Craigslist FREE RSS feed. That and Freecycle are AWESOME. Yes, takes some time - and yes, use caution and always have a friend with you when you pick stuff up.
In the meantime.... what's your favorite color?
Thanks for the ideas! My favorite color is probably blue :)
