On Wednesday night, after our Dates with Jesus, I got the opportunity to help lead a time of worship with a couple guys from different schools. It was really awesome because God completely took over the worship service. None of us had ever played together and we only got a couple hours to figure things out, but because everyone's heart was in the right place God made it an amazing time of worship. It was so incredible to be in a place where everyone was so intent of praising God rather than talking to their friends or worrying about the day. I was so blessed.
Last night was a short evangelism night, and me and another girl walked down to the beach and pier to see if we could get into conversation with anyone. The first guy we talked to was really awesome. He was visiting from Michigan and was totally open to during our survey and chatting with us. He turned out to be an awesome believer of Jesus (though non-denominational) and we were really inspired by talking with him. I think he was also happy to have the opportunity to chat with us, God brought us along right before he was going leave. We tried to talked to a couple other ladies on the pier, but although they did our survey it was obvious they weren't really interested in being bothered so we politely excused ourselves after a few minutes.
Its amazing to think that I have only been in Santa Monica a week. It seems like so much longer and many of us are close friends already. You know how when little kids first meet each other they are kind of instantly friends and can easily play together? That's kind of how it is. Of course, being in such close living quarters every day and sharing in deep personal conversations is really key to developing our friendships. Tonight, I have about 6 hours of training at my job, and then we start with the kids on Monday morning! I'm excited to begin a much busier and more exhausting part of the trip :)
