Farmer's Market

I never really considered Farmer’s Markets an “Arizona Thing.”  I’ve gone in Michigan and California, and in both states they have been amazing, full of delicious tasting healthy food!  Living in Tucson, I’ve heard rumors that Tucson actually does have a Farmer’s Market – actually multiple ones.  I’ve been saying for a while now that I want to check it out and see if there is any chance it is somewhat as amazing as the other ones I have been to, but it has never actually happened.  However, this weekend I was determined and I told my roommate that on Sunday morning we were going, even if I had to drag her out of bed at 8 AM, (and let’s be honest, I kind of did).

But it was worth it!   The market has by no means as big an offering of produce as those in California and Michigan, however, it was surprisingly large for Tucson.   We taste tested yummy homemade salsa, dried fruit, and veggies and I bought a mango, pepper, and some homemade granola.  The fruit selection wasn’t as great as I hoped, but there was a lot of other interesting stuff, and it was a really fun activity!  Were thinking we might just make it a weekly event :)
