A Weekend Away

As much as I love Tucson, I really love the chance to get away for a few days.  Even though it always means coming back to more stress than I left, having a few carefree days is always a huge blessing.

Last weekend, Mike and I took a quick trip up to Phoenix to visit his family and go to a Tenth Avenue North concert.  The concert was awesome, even though we had to stand all the way in the back.  The band is really great live, and the new CD they recently came out with is called "The Struggle."  Almost all of their songs and the things that they said were about how everyone has different struggles in life and things that bring them down, but a solid Christian community and God are always there to hold you up.

On Saturday morning before the concert, I got to sleep in until 12:30 pm.  It was incredible.  For over a month, I have gotten up early every single day.  And I know some of you may scoff at my saying 6:30 - 7:30 AM is early, but I would like you to keep in mind that I go to bed at 12 - 1 AM, not 9 PM.  Anyways, it will probably not happen again for a very long time, but I very much enjoyed the treat.

Then of course we had to come back to Tucson.  This week (and next week) have been incredibly rough as far as school and everything else goes and I'm getting pretty worn down.  But I just keep reminding my self it isn't too much longer until Thanksgiving!
