Around the second week of November, about 13 of the Juniors and Seniors in Cru, along with our staff, drove out to Anaheim for a conference called Crossroads. I drove with a few of my very favorite people, and while the drive was longggggg, it was a lot of fun. We decided to leave a day early for the conference and drove to Santa Monica to visit for a couple hours, as three out of the four of us in the car had been on Summer Project. It's always lovely to see the beautiful area again and we took time to walk along the Promenade and eat delicious Chicken and Waffles! That night, we were blessed to spend the night in Studio City with two of our old Cru staff couples that moved over the summer. We got to hear about their church plant, browse around Studio City, and even walk around Universal Studios for about an hour! So fun :)
The next day we traveled to the conference and spent the next three days in amazing sessions and seminars and lunches. The idea of Crossroads is to give Juniors and Seniors who are at a Crossroads in life some idea of where they should go in the future. The conference focuses on making God and being on mission the center of your life no matter what field one decides to go into. We got to hear all about working with Cru as well as from multiple business people about how they act our their Christian lives in the workforce. We heard a lot of really hard things, interesting things, and things that would take a long time to think and process through even after the conference. It was a refreshing experience - spending a weekend in California with some of my closest friends being poured into rather than pouring out.
